A little thing called religion...

Hi,

So today I am going to talk about a very controversial topic. A topic which I can't discuss with my family ever. Or for that matter, most of my friends also.

I want to talk about my religious beliefs. It's a very comman topic of discussion between people. If you are a Christian, are you catholic or protestant. If you are Hindu, then which God you follow. And so on.

But my views are slightly different. And due to these slightly different views, people tend to call me an atheist.

The exact definition as provided by Google of an atheist is:-
"A person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods."

If I go by this defination then the person who is a non believer is an atheist. But I do believe in God. I do believe in a higher power that is responsible for everything that happens in our life. I do believe there are things out there which are beyond our realm of thoughts.

But what I don't believe is naming the God. We are already seeing what the world has come to. People are fighting among themselves due to religion.One religion is considered to be more elite than the other religions by the people.

Moreover, some people get so lost in their religion that they actually go insane and use the religious texts to impose them self on others. Also, few people are there who use these texts to actually sexually, mentally and physically abuse others.

Isn't it better to actually believe that there is a higher power without naming it. People only use religion to fight among them self.? Isn't it better to actually forget the person sitting next to you is Christian or Hindu or a Muslim, if it means that you can have your meal in peace?

If by not naming the higher power I will be called an atheist, then I sure as hell am proud to be an atheist. It is always better to have your own thoughts rather than other people thoughts being imposed on you.
